I fished some offshoots of the fox river that turn into little creeks. There were a lot of smallmouth bass around. We were able to land a bunch on ned rigs and small swimbaits. I caught the biggest smallmouth on a small squarebill out of a deep channel turn. It hit right when I ricocheted it off a branch in the water.

Smallmouth are starting to appear in the river, pitching ned rigs around current breaks with rock is a great way to find these smallmouth
