WalleyeTechniqueBlade BaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureDocksThe walleye this year are really liking blade baits with a straight retrieve. Targeting docks and slack water seems to be the spots. Deeper holes will also be good just let it sink to the bottom.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRock PileI fished the Great Lakes Kayak Fishing Series tournament Sunday. I choose to fish the Fox River in Kimberly. The fish were definitely biting as I caught 32 smallmouth in 8.5 hours. Lot of culling for size though. I ended up with 80.25 inches but most of my fish were below 14 inches. The key to the bite for me was throwing slow moving baits like a drop shot and micro jig. everything was on rock mostly in 5 to 7 foot of water.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonFallStructureRock PileFishing on the Fox River in Oshkosh was steady with water temps around 67°F. Smallmouth bass hit well on drop shots with Berkley Flat Worms in and around rock piles.

Northern PikeTechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonFallStructureDocksThe pike were liking ploppers thrown up under docks this morning and were hitting them right as they came out from under the docks. And anywhere with shade seemed to work well to.
