This was my first time fishing Gardner is a couple of years. I arrived just after a short thunderstorm. At first the fish seemed to be short nipping everything and I lost 3 or 4 without getting them in the boat. Finally I got them fired up on the ZMan Chatterbait EVO black and blue 3/8 oz. I caught five in a row in the same stretch of bank. I caught about 10 total on the bank or just off the bank. Later I saw fish hitting the surface in a fury out on the main body of the lake. I got out the Flashy Swimmer with a gizzard shad and tossed in right where the activity was. I caught another 5 this way. What a great morning of fishing. I was only out there about 2.5 hours. Will be going back soon.
