Water is still cold and the smallmouth are typically cruising rocky banks points and drop offs. I found a decent school of them using my active target and was able to catch several 3 to 5 lbers in the same area in about a 1hr stretch of time. Watching them react to the twitch twitch pause was really helpful to dial in the cadence they liked. So mix it up until you find what they are looking for and I gaurantee you will have success!

Water is cold and fish are moving slow while grouped up tight to the bottom. Utilizing the drop shot is an easy way to keep that bait down there with little to no action really needed on the bait.
