WalleyeTechniqueBlade BaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureLedgesPre-spawn walleye are roaming the sand flats on the west side of the bay. Look for warm/clear water. Side scan can help locate the pockets of schooled up fish. Cover water with long casts and slow lifting motion to raise up rippin rap creating action along with a controlled drop. Blade baits also boated some fish.

WalleyeTechniqueFinesse Hair JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureOpen Water/BasinWorking slowly with long pauses in between was key to getting these fish to eat in really cold water. A highly sensitive rod like the Xtreme is great for being able to feel the jig and light bites

WalleyeTechniqueBlade BaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureLedgesFish are really hungry. Find the edge of the channel and you will find them. A lot of males in the system but we are starting to see some bigger females move in. I start with blade bait and change to plastics when the bite slows a little.
