Sometimes twitching the rod. Fish seems to be schooling up pre-spawn. Some big females were on beds tucked back into the reeds in less than 2 feet of water. I would recommend flipping craw or “bug” style baits into beds to try and coax the bedders. I only tried a few and they were very un-interested.
