The water temp is 52 degrees and dropping. The bass where in the same areas they have been all year. Just that they are chasing blue gills more. The Squarebill Sexy Shad was the key to getting more bits. I was also using a 5.3-1 gear ratio reel and 10 lbs test fluorocarbon line.

In the morning fish were shallow, active, and could be caught on a spinnerbait or a chatterbait. As the day progressed the fish were a little less willing to bite. A Texas-rigged worm was key to picking up a few extra bites in areas we had already been through with moving baits.
