TechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructureLedgesToday was a fantastic day on the water with my clients during a half-day morning trip on Green Lake, Wisconsin. Despite the overcast skies, the fishing conditions were excellent. We located several pods of baitfish and worked them effectively using drop shots and tube baits. The fish were aggressive and active, making for an exciting morning. One of the highlights of the trip was a client landing his very first smallmouth bass—his smile said it all! In just a few hours, we boated big northern pike, rock bass, and some great smallmouth. It was an action-packed outing, and I couldn’t be happier with how the day turned out. Looking forward to seeing these clients again soon for more time on the water!

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureLedgesToday was his first time targeting smallmouth, and conditions were just right. We missed a few bites early on, but once he got the hang of it, things came together nicely. Between the tubes and the drop shot, he managed to land a few solid smallies! We fished a variety of depths, anywhere from 17 to 40 feet, and found success across the board. Green Lake continues to be a fun and productive spot, and today was no exception. Overall, it was a great day on the water. The clients went home happy, and that’s what it’s all about.

TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureLedgesThe smallies were chasing minnows and we decided to launch Ned rigs at them as we saw them surface. We focused on ledges and my two and half year old son caught this nice Smallie. It was a great day.

TechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructureRock PileFished a small club tournament on Green Lake August 16-17th. Had a great numbers day with around 12lbs being our biggest 5 just couldn’t find the bigger bite. Most fish were caught in the 9-15ft range on isolated rock piles on the outside of weed lines. Dragging a football jig and tube around yielded the most bites.

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureOpen Water/BasinGot out on Green Lake for the first time Friday morning. (8/5/22). Launched from Sunset Park and fished Eastern half of lake. Caught a few largemouth under docks swimming a Strike King football jig. Caught 1 nice smallmouth around clean bottom area in 15' of water on a do nothing retrieve with a Green Pumpkin finesse TRD and a really nice smallmouth on the first drop with a shop shot in about 25' a little west of Sandstone Bluff. Then had some motor problems. Thank you to the gentleman that gave me a tow the rest of the way back to the lauch! I appreciated it!

TechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructureRock PileHad a tournament on Green and easily caught 30+ smallmouth with a few largemouth mixed in. I targeted rock piles on the edge of weed lines and drug the tube through the rock and popped it over weeds. Light line, long casts, and slow drags were key to catching fish.

TechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructureRock PileThis was a fun trip many smallies were caught between her and her brother. They learned a lot and the rock piles kept producing fish for about an hour straight lots of fish were caught and then when the bite shut off we moved to docks and skipped senkos for largies. They had a great memorable day on the water.
