I fished the Anglers Choice Northern Wisconsin division on Green Lake Sunday. In practice I focused on post spawn smallmouth, but on tournament day the wind was howling in on the area I had located some on shallow flats. I picked up one small keeper on a tube derby day off of a sand spot I had marked in practice, but after fumbling around trying to follow shallow grass lines in high wind we moved to docks around noon to try to fill a limit for points. We found some good size largemouth around docks throwing wacky rig senkos and beaver style baits around boat lifts. A few may have been on beds yet, but the wind made it hard to properly sight fish. We finished with 13.9 pounds and placed 10th. A lot of anglers had targeted/caught fish on deeper beds the day before, but the conditions were not conducive for seeing beds in 8 feet of water. Most fish should be just about wrapped up spawning by now, barring a few way out deep.
