Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonWinterStructureBrush PilesFishing was pretty tough. Post-front, algae bloom on the water, 50-degree water, and plenty of pressure in the tournament. The only way that I could get them to bite was by tossing my shakey head past the brush pile, pulling it into it and they just barely shook my worm. The bite was just a little extra weight and you'd just have to reel into them. Once they were hooked it was a sea sawing game to get them out. Keeping the drag backed off even on the hookset was important.

Largemouth BassTechniqueNeko RigsSeasonFallStructureRock PileFished a derb back in October on Green Valley. We got a horrible boat draw which resulted in the winning team sitting on my starting spot all day. Made some adjustments and just went junk fishing. Scrapped up 8lbs on a neko rig on some artificial rock piles.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesBass are lethargic right now, fish the shakey head very slow around deeper structure to pull them out of their cover. Plenty of bass to be caught in the 10-18 ft range if you find the correct structure. Almost fall transition so this bite is subject to change soon.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonFallStructureLaydownsWon a tournament here with a little under 11lbs. It was a really tough day and we only had 5 keeper bites all day. We were flippin the laydowns in 3-5ft of water. You had to really get inside of the tree where nobody else was getting. There are 2 main coves we focused on also trees just scattered along the bank.

Largemouth BassTechniqueLipless CrankbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureHumpsThe bite was very tough. Back end of creek arms still had ice on them. Most all bites came from hopping a trap around humps near deep water but the bite was very slow.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonWinterStructureRock PileIt was a very slow day today. Only had three bites but they were all quality bites. Was able to catch all my fish on a jackhammer with a venom lures creature bait as the trailer. Water temperature was around 44 to 46° but water clarity was quite stained. Also caught a few small fish scoping and 20 ft of water.

Largemouth BassTechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructureRock PileWe were fishing pretty much community holes. Just dragging the football jig real slowly while adding a couple hops produced the most bites. Noticed that the biggest rockpiles were out in front of the public benches along the lake.

Largemouth BassTechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassStarted catching some good fish out of grass mats in the morning with a black frog. Once the sun came up I had the best luck by fishing the outside edge of grass with a drop shot. The Alpha-Grip hook by mustad does a great job of keeping them pinned!
