With the rapid rising water temps the spawn is happening, there is a mixture of smaller males and larger females roaming the shallows, the larger bass seem to be holding off the flats, but ready to move up any time. Baitfish are suspended above isolated weed patches and offer up food and cover for the Bass, so don't pass up those areas, they are worth checking out. Crappie
5/16/21 Blue skies with broken clouds, light wind with water temps in the high 50s still, fished deeper with jerkbaits, swimbaits and gliders which produced some smaller fish. With the 12-15 foot water clarity, you could see the bass starting to bed up, but I leave them be. Pulled a lot of smaller bass fishing docks, definitely a good time doing that. Not uncommon to come across large schools of massive crappie right now, so bring your ultralight too! Buy all the Omnia gear, that's the real secret!
