South wind made for a tough day but they were chowing down on creature baits Texas rigged around the rocky areas. 50 fish day with a 5.7 pictured on the report.

Main lake dropped 11 degrees (56 to 44) in a week. Chased down the warm water and checked back up into a pocket with emerging grass and cattails. Found a pocket in dirt shallow water (1 to 1.5 feet) and worked the fluke weightless like a top water walking bait. Bigger class of fish became more active around 7:00 to 7:30. I could watch their wakes as they hunted the bait down. Caught a male up super shallow and then three casts late this big girl bit. My current PB largemouth in all categories: 21 inches, 5-12. Stellar evening fishing shallow!
