Walleye
TechniqueLive Bait RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureLedgesCruising the shorelines in 11fow to 14fow with spinner crawler harness rigs at 1.2 mph was the ticket to get bit today. Forgot to swing by the bait shop on the way to the boat lauch. Put on some gulp crawlers and end up catching 16in, 19in, and 24in walleye. Also, a surprise 25in flathead catfish!! Great day on the water!!!

Crappie
TechniqueHover/Mid-StrollingSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureOpen Water/BasinCrappies are schooling. Big ones where I went. Caught over 100 and only kept my limit that were 12"+. Found a school and used livescope (optional). Every single cast with one Raid Little Sweeper lure on Hover rig. Very light jigging and let them take it. Had so much fun catching them for 2 hours straight. This lure is my favorite so far this year. Highly recommend.

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueHover/Mid-StrollingSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureLaydownsWindy and chilly day on choppy 43-degree water. No luck using search baits and got tired of casting constantly. Switched it up and found laydowns and underwater trees protected from the wind to escape. Small swimbait with 1/16oz jighead, rubbed with bait pop, and fished hover rig with FFS. Every time I found a new laydown or underwater tree, I knew when I was going to get a bite, which proved true. Had so much fun that I used one spinning rod in the remaining 8 hours. These raid swimbaits are pricey, but I used one swimbait the entire day. Even after getting beat up by literally 100 plus large crappies. Give them a try!
