Not long after the spawn, crappies began moving out from the shallows and started suspending about 20’ from the docks which is about 10-15 feet deep on the right side of the docks. The left side is a bit more shallow at about 5-8’ deep at the same distance from the docks. In any case, good size crappies were active in the vegetation at depth. Light spinning gear with small curly tail and split tail grubs on light jigheads was key to success!
