All on the swimjig with a Keitech on the back. (Swimjig is a custom jig made by a guy in Little Canada, MN) It took a while to get my first bite but it was a 3 1/2 pound spawned out female. The water temp was steady at 78. I can't imagine there are any fish spawning still. Was a fun time!

CrappieTechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationNot long after the spawn, crappies began moving out from the shallows and started suspending about 20’ from the docks which is about 10-15 feet deep on the right side of the docks. The left side is a bit more shallow at about 5-8’ deep at the same distance from the docks. In any case, good size crappies were active in the vegetation at depth. Light spinning gear with small curly tail and split tail grubs on light jigheads was key to success!
