TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesAny grass line areas with the zoom super fluke both white and pro blue red have produced. Light nail weighted worms have produced thrown into the grass and fluttered over the edges. Spotted bass have been caught in both number and size with light shaky heads (1/16oz owner ultra head) paired with zoom finesse worms in green pumpkin. Crankbaits have produced on rocky points (DT10-14) but have to find the needle in a hay stack. Tight lines!

Spotted Bass
TechniqueDamiki RigSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureBrush PilesWe located brush piles on channel swings and in ditches with the active target. Using the damiki rig vertically was productive with 12-15” spotted bass- patience was key but produced 20 fish in only 75 min of fishing. We used an 1/8oz head for 12ft or less, and used a 3/8oz head to target piles in 18-22ft. I love the hook on the bad little dude by Bryan New. The Guppy head jigs are great too. We alternated between natural bait patters (baby bass) and pure white. Every now and then we used white with silver flake. Keep it hovering above the piles.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRiver ChannelsDuring the spawn you can back off the bank a little bit to focus in on the fish that are coming and going from the shallow areas. Bass will use the creek channel beds as highways. A weighted Texas Rig worm is a great option for catching the deeper fish.
