I caught this 3 1/2 pound large mouth bass mid day on a booyah leopard green pad crasher using a ST Croix medium fast MOJO bass rod with a Shimano curado reel

They were chasing bait out deep over matted grass. Covering water with a chatterbait seemed to get the biggest bites.

I tried to pattern smallies on Horseshoe lake but didn't have much time to fish so I changed my strategy to largemouth. I saw bait fish suspending over weed flats adjacent to breaks so I grabbed a 6th Sense Catwalk in a bluegill color and caught several largemouth in a short time

Look for inside weedlines with green vegetation this time of year. I throw a heavier bladed jig in the Fall with a bulkier trailer. 30 to 40 pound braid on a St Croix Legend Tournament Warhorse rod.
