TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationWater temps were higher than usual for this time of year and we still managed to find a couple on beds! The bass would turn away from EVERYTHING except the Berkley Gilly. as soon as we threw this in via dropshotting, they keyed in on it RIGHT AWAY and would just suck it in. the Trokar TK137 was KEY in keeping them pinned with such light line. we rigged the gilly with the hook going through nose and then out the side (NOT the top like a swimbait).

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationTough day overall. Lost a couple fish flipping that would have helped in the tournament. Managed to salvage a middle of the road finish with a solid 18” largie off the windblown edge off of a large weed patch.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureBrush PilesMuch better 2nd day in the tourney. Switched up sides of the lake and focused on the nastiest parts of the brushpiles. Landed 4, but had a lot of bites. The Zoom Mag UV craw seemed to get their attention better than other baits. Largest one of the day came off a deeper rockpile. Ended up 6th for a little improvement from day 1. Snagged a bonus walleye off a point with a jackhammer.

TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSummerStructureLedgesWalleye and white bass were suspended at 6' in 8' of water. Hitting the steeper dropoffs where water went from 6' to 15' quickly was the ticket. Rapala DT6 and Spro RK crawler were the deal in shad colors.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesWhen it was bright skies and flat, the ticket was flipping brushpiles - shallow and deep. A mix of baits worked, but Zoom Mag UV Speed Craw and Xzone Adrenaline Craw were the better baits. 3/8 and 1/2 oz tungsten weight depending on depth. 15lb Invizx Fluorocarbon. Bass also chasing shad - Strike King Redeye Shad and KVD Splash worked.

TechniqueStructure JigsSeasonFallStructureStanding TimberFish were relating to standing timber/flooded trees in 8-10ft. Bites would come after letting the jig sit on bottom for several seconds. The secondary action of the mop jig definitely seemed to make a difference. All bass had red lips
