Largemouth BassTechniqueGrass JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationVery hot and sticky morning fishing. We hit the water a bit after 6:30. Virtually no wind as well. We started near the bowl on the north end of the lake throwing various stuff and caught a small keeper and a lot of little ones on wacky's, neds, small cranks, and a jerkbait. Decided to start moving around the lake to see what else we could find. Hit the west end and picked up a 3.5lb'er on a jig and started getting onto a jig bite. Moved over to the east side to run down the longer ledge/weed line after catching more dinks on the north line. We picked up several other keepers on the jig bite or ned during the rest of the morning. Overall had a bit over a 12lb bag by the time we got off the water. The pleasure boaters came out at 11:00 and ran us off the water.

Largemouth BassTechniqueHard Topwater (Popping)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationDead calm and an AMAZING amount of fog when we first got out. Water clarity was nuts as well, could easily see 15'+. Immediately got onto a top water bite and we probably caught 20-25 fish on poppers during the morning. We caught another 15 on assorted jerkbait, stickbait, and one decent one (see pic) on a chatterbait. The technique was a slow pop and sit with the top water, after 2 seconds or so they were just getting sucked down beneath the surface, barely a splash. We were targeting the deep patches of submerged vegetation for bigger fish. Casting up near the docks would get us fish as well, but they were much smaller. Lake has a no wake before 11, after 7:30 rule and at 11 it went nuts. We were getting swamped by the rec boaters and it started getting dangerous, so we got off the water.
