Cast those areas and bring the chatterbait in slow and low and hang on! The Chatter was working about 3 to 1 over spinnerbaits, maybe better? If you could run the bait along the weed edge rather that over the top, POW!

We used jig with bobbers about 3 foot down as well as just a small 3/16 oz jig head with red and yellow tube. Casting up to the weed line and working the jigs back to the boat, in and around the weeds. Yes you will get some weeds and hang-ups, but that's where the crappie were. There are also nice bluegill, pike, bass and walleye in there!
