Largemouth BassTechniqueBlade BaitsSeasonFallStructureLily PadsThe fall bite was starting to pick up on this little lake. Fish were starting to school up but not quite putting on the feed bag. Most were caught running a chatterbait parallel to the shore; however, we did get few bites running in through the remaining lilypads. Flipping the pads also brought in some bites, but those were few and far between. Hopefully, with some cooler temps ahead, we can get back to real fall fishing.

Jigging fallen timber/ brush along shoreline
SpeciesLargemouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonFallStructureLaydownsThrowing jigs on laydown timber produced the most fish for us. Some were caught on crankbaits on the weedline but few and far between. Caught a bunch of them but nothing over 3 lbs.

Bass were munching on shallow cranks on windblown weedlines. Focused on weeds from 10ft to 4ft. Many fish over 2 pounds, a really fun bite.

Northern PikeTechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Large)SeasonSummerStructureHumpsThe bass fishing outing turned into a fun pike fishing day. Big pike were staged on the offshore humps and points across the lake, feasting on bluegills. Ripping the swimbaits through the weed clumps would cause a reaction bite. We landed multiple pike over 5 pounds and one that broke us off boatside that was pushing 10. This bite should continue as long as bluegills remain in the weeds.
