Managed to find some fish in the pads today. They were slightly smaller than the fish holding off shore in the weeds but way more exciting to catch.

I caught one, and hooked two others. The one bass I caught kind of looks like it had back problems. Lol.

The conditions were overcast and windy. I was using a 3/8 oz. Googan Squad Zinger in the bluegill color pattern, with a Googan Baits Saucy Swimmer for a trailer. I was also using a trailer hook. My retrieval was slow to medium speed. I casted my spinnerbait kind of in line with the dock/walkway, and I think the bass I caught was possibly hiding out underneath it. I was a using a Googan Squad Gold Series Reaction casting rod.

There is a lot of fishing pressure this 4th of July weekend. Had to get away from usual techniques and throw something the fish may not have seen. Was able to catch a few after switching over to the missile baits bomba. Great subtle presentation for tough days.

Weeds/vegetation are everywhere, Texas rigged worms worked well. Be prepared to pull up a lot of weeds when landing fish.

Hopping frogs over the lily pad clumps that were close enough to cast at from the shore. Some were small but held multiple fish.
