Target shaded areas: overhanging trees, brush piles, tulies. Short and fast flips/pitches along the brush and skipping under docks was very effective.

Mid-day fishing was good on Town Lake (AKA Ladybird Lake). Bass are holding tight to cover and ambushing baitfish. Pitching and flipping into submerged vegetation and skipping jigs under low hanging trees was effective. Water clarity was about 5-6ft, so black and blue or junebug colored baits worked well. In clearer water by the Barton creek mouth, watermelon red and green pumpkin proved more effective.

Ran the banks and tossed the weightless Deps cover scat along the banks and bridge structures and let it slow sink to the bottom. I got 21 bass by doing this

Some of those humps/high spots were out offshore and then others were along the shoreline. I had the best results targeting the humps that were offshore that had submerged vegetation clumps on them. Usually when fishing offshore humps like this I like to make long casts to the other side of hump and then drag jig back to me maintaining bottom contact. But for these specific humps that have grass on them, that was not the most efficient way to fish them. To get the bites, I had to present jig in a vertical way by pitching jig out there and letting it sink to bottom. Once it was on bottom, I had to be patient and let it soak there for a little bit while giving it subtle twitches with my rod tip. Doing that causes that bronco bug trailer to hinge and perform at its best. When I was presenting my jig in this way, I was not getting fouled up in the grass and I was able to make a multitude of efficient presentations to the bass that were tucked up in that grass. Overall: - Find some offshore humps with your electronics that have clumps of grass on them that are in about 15-20 feet of water. - Get tight to the hump itself and make short pitches to present jig in a vertical way. - Let jig hit bottom and give it some subtle twitches for about 10 seconds, if no bites, reel jig in and do another presentation to another spot on that hump. - Bites came while I was dead sticking jig

I fished all the bridges mainly focusing on all the pilings and between them. I used a green pumpkin Senko on a dropshot set up with the weight 6” below the hook. Very slow bumps and movements I caught 32 bass like this.
