Great day fishing on Lake Almanor. There had been a few days with excellent weather and a warming trend. Water temp was 61 in the morning and rose up to 65 in the afternoon. We fished all day and caught 25+ fish. If you were able to stay off of the fish and make long accurate casts, the fish were very quick to eat the 4.5 inch fat roboworm in Aaron’s Magic rigged with a 1/4 ounce dropshot weight. I also experimented with the new 2.5 inch Great Lakes Finesse Juvy craw in green pumpkin rigged with a 3/8 ounce tube jighead which led to some awesome bites. Although it took a few more casts, the smallmouth would charge the craw from long distances and attack it violently - very cool. Wind picked up in the afternoon which made the bite slightly more challenging.
