Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationI got a few to chew yesterday on Lake Ann. Best thing about fishing week days this time of year (October) is that I had the whole lake to myself from 10am to 3pm! WOOHOO! 🥳🔥🥳

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationThe bass were in schools off the edge of the lily pads in submerged vegetation. I threw my chatter bait parallel to the lily pads. A cold front came in the day before and the bites were less than aggressive, but I got a few to chew!

Northern PikeTechniqueInline SpinnersSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationLake Ann holds lots of pike. Fall has always been a great time to target pike there. This past weekend, I used Z-Man Chatter baits with Rage Craw Trailers and Spinnerbaits to get excellent numbers of pike in my kayak. Burning these blade baits through and over vegetation triggered reaction strikes.

Northern PikeTechniqueInline SpinnersSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationGreat kayak friendly lake. Pike were holding tight to cover and hitting chatterbaits with a swimbait trailer HARD. Throw on a moderate action rod with a steel leader.

CrappieTechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSummerStructureLedgesCaught a ton of crappies throwing a 1/8oz yellow jighead with a matching 4” Mister Twister grub. Let it sink to about 5-7 FOW and slowly retrieve it. Biggest one was 11.25”.

Largemouth BassTechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThe bite was tough but managed a few bass. Side note, remember this is a catch and release bass fishery and a slotted limit for northern pike. Read the signs at the launch. This is also a non motorized gas engine lake. Makes for a very peaceful lake to fish and canoe/kayak in. The bass very very finicky, and wanted nothing but slow moving wacky rigged worms. Biggest bass of the day was a 17.75” bass and smallest was 14.5” bass. A few crappies were caught by other anglers going after bass. Also managed a couple small northern pikes using moving baits such as a chatterbait or tandem spinner baits. Water temp was around 78 degrees, water clarity was good at around 10-15 feet visibility.
