TechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRip RapHad a fun time fun fishing around the south end of Lake Bridgeport. Was able to get bit by largemouth and crappie on the Bassman compact spinnerbait. Fish were cruising along rocky shores in 2 to 7 feet of water. Very slow retrieve along bottom, banging off rocks with the spinnerbait and you will get bit.

TechniqueMedium Diving Crankbaits (7'-12')SeasonSummerStructurePilingsI had a chance to do a bit of fishing on Lake Bridgeport. In this trip I was bank fishing near a highway bridge crossing the lake. There is a slight current flowing underneath the bridge. Had success in my favorite combination as of late, the smeltinator swimbait jig head and the 3 inch spark shad. This lake has both spotted bass and largemouth bass. I found success by tossing up under the bridge deck and in front of the bridge pilings and allowing the spark shad to slowly descend in the current along the deeper structure. Use a very slow retrieve through the current, back to the bank. The spark shad has great movement in the water, you don't need to retrieve fast in the current to have a good chance of catching a bass!
