Can't go wrong with a good jerkbait this time of year! Look for water temps in the mid to high 40s, tie on a 110 and hold on. Vary your cadence on the retrieve, most likely longer pauses are the way to go.

Fishing below lake Dubay for Northern Pike using ripping raps. Bouncing the Rapala off the bottom was effective in catching a 27'in, and 29'in Northern Pike. Many anglers were also fishing for walleye using live shinners and smaller finesse baits.

Dragging the Tokyo rigged tube along the bottom was more effective than hopping the traditional rigged tube. The small mouth pick the jig up and run with it rather than just sitting with it.
