TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureReedsFished in the afternoon and didn’t get much time before the thunderstorms came in. I did pretty well pitching to the pockets in the Kissimmee grass. I did run across two schools in open water but they were small fish.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureReedsFished Lake Easy yesterday afternoon. It was sunny, warm, 10-15 NE wind, the water temp was 77-79. I started off trying to get an offshore bite from some of the brush piles that should be holding the bigger fish now. I wasn’t successful at that so I went back to what works, pitching a burner worm into pockets in the Kissimmee grass. I have started dipping the tails to have something a little different. This lake sees pretty good pressure considering it’s size, and with the clear water, I’ll take any advantage I can get.

Largemouth Bass
TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureReedsFished Lake Easy from 4pm-8pm. It was sunny, warm, and windy with a NE wind. I concentrated on the lee shoreline to stay out of the wind. I found fish in the pockets and breaks in the Kissimmee grass. Better fish were in the holes, but they were tough to pull out of the grass. My best today was 17” but I lost a couple that were much better. I kept looking for schooling fish, since this lake typically has them almost year round. I had a jerkbait and lipless crankbait ready but they never popped up.

TechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesFished the afternoon, it was sunny and hot. Water temps are in the mid-upper 80’s. I caught fish on a Texas rigged watermelon red speedworm with a pegged 1/8 oz weight fished tight against the Kissimmee grass anywhere there was a little cut or pocket. The better fish of the day came off of several different brush piles on the south end of the lake. For those I was fishing a 1/4 oz Shakey head with a Zoom Trick Worm.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonFallStructureReedsFished yesterday afternoon/evening. It was partly cloudy, air temps in the 70’s, water was 73-74. A couple days past the cold front I didn’t expect much. I ended up catching about 15 smaller 1-2 pound fish on the Burner Worm fished against the Kissimmee grass. I did get one nice one. These fish are usually schooled up this time of year, but I haven’t seen any schooling activity since the hurricane came through a couple weeks ago.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonFallStructureMatted GrassFished the afternoon and caught several pitching into the edge of the grasslines. The fish are starting to put on some weight compared to how they were a few weeks ago. The last 30 minutes before sunset I walked a Spook Jr. along the grasslines and around a few docks and caught a few more.

TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonWinterStructureShadFished yesterday afternoon/evening (11/23/21). It was clear, cool, (air temp 60’s, water 66-68) and windy 15 from NNE. Bass were schooling and chasing bait along the eastern side of the lake. They could be found from the grassline in 5 feet, out to about 12 feet. When they were up on the surface it was hard to miss, I’d cast the Live Target Bait Ball Spinner into the school and get a bite immediately. When they were on the surface I fished the Rapala OG Slim in Citrus Shad color and Green Gizzard Shad color and caught most of my fish that way just covering the water from 6-12 feet deep.
