Largemouth BassTechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationHump day produced several fish out of clumps of submerged vegetation in 4-8 feet of water. Throwing a weedless neko, rigged for maximum spiral effect. It has produced all summer.

Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationLake Elmo is a blast to fish in the summer! It is one of the clearest and deepest lakes in the area. Don't let that intimidate you. Finesse stuff works best, find the deepest weeds you can find and throw a drop shot in and around them. Jig worms and neko rigs work as well. There are some shallow areas where you can throw a frog early in the day. Green pumpkin and natural colors are key on lake Elmo. The lake is no wake from sunrise till 11 am, I'd recommend fishing during this time as the recreational traffic can get bad.

Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFish are holding on the submerged grass edges in 10-12 fow. A painfully slow retrieve with subtle rod shakes triggered bites.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureReedsWater was lightly stained after the storms, even tho the water water 81 degrees all of the fish still came in 2-8 feet of water. The key was finding outside weed edges and reed patches. Look for irregularities in the weeds like a hard bottom a boat lane through the weeds etc. another good portion of fish came from skipping a jig underneath boat docks and swimming it in

Largemouth BassTechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSummerStructureReedsIf you wanna catch large mouth bass, fish the weed lines. They are sitting in 2-10 ft of water. Water visibility is super clear when there isn’t any rain usually up to 10-15ft you can spot fish. When heavy rain you can see up to 8 feet maybe a little less.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFishing a Core Ozark rig with a Zoom Fluke along the NW weed line in about six feet of water. Landed four bass, three of them were over three pounds.

Largemouth BassTechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationWeedless / spiral rigged neko into isolated patches of clasping leaf pondweed seems to be the ticket. Catching good numbers of fish with several in the 3-5 pound range. All of my catches are coming out of 4-6 feet of water.

Largemouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationWhile live suckers are whacking the snot out of them, a hard hitting, rolling jerkbait can still trigger strikes. Throwing parallel to submerged grass and really snapping the rod caused the most success. Dumped two that hit like freight trains and landed this dude.
