Fished the north end grass since a tournament was going on and the south end was congested. Pre-frontal with east winds so we started with Texas rigged magnum trick worms. Good success on smaller fish in the 2-3 lbs range. Cloud cover moved in and we started throwing frogs. My first time using and Toad thumper brand and it lived up to the hype. 40 minutes of good cloud cover and that frog got hit 4 times and all 4 hooked up. Walked amazingly well over thick mat and the Berkeley x9 braid is the best casting braid I’ve ever thrown. Sun came back out and the frog bite died but we were able to get bites on a whale swim bait with an under spin. Found a few blue gill beds and switched our whales to a gill color and found a few more quality bass.

Running shallow main lake and secondary clay points first thing in the mornings has been really hot and have been receiving 2 or 3 really good bites. Then searching down the bank in pockets in the large creeks for spawning fish as the sun gets up and then back to the points as the afternoon comes around as the fish have really been feeding first thing in the morning and afternoons on Shad on the points.

In the morning I focused my attention on the shad spawn with a swimbait and a jerk bait. Then I would run shallow cover with a swim jig for spawners after the morning shad spawn was over. I caught a few key fish off of beds I found covering water with my swim jig. The last day a square bill produced for me on main lake points. This whole tournament was about adjustments each day.
