TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureLily PadsThe spawn is ON! Located aggressive males on beds searching with a Spro Bronzeye 60( midnight walker). If they missed or just swatted at the frog, I would use my punch set up to get trough the pads and pick em up. My set up for both, was the same. 7'9" casting set up, with an 8:1.1 reel, spooled with Power Pro Maxcuatro in 65lb. 3/8 oz. Flippin weight, tied to a Gamakatzu 4/0 Heavy cover Flippin hook, tied with a snell knot.

I tried a few different techniques and then decided to tie on a strike king hybrid hunter to fish along the vegetation by the shore. A few casts in I got a solid bite, and he even put up a little fight to get him in.
