MuskieTechniqueInline SpinnersSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationMotorless lake here. Drop kayak in at the landing in the morning. Work the entire lakes weed edge but save time to focus heavily on the North and East side of the lake. Do not pass by the beaches. Before they open for swimming, it is a great opportunity to spot fish for a muskie of any size. Cast, cast and cast your Mepps Muskie Killer In-Line Spinner 3/4 oz (yes! 3/4 oz) Black/Chartreuse just above and outside the submerged vegetation and even through the anchored sailboats. No need to break your back and arms with overly heavy and priced lures at this location.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationA buddy and I went out Thursday evening from 5-8pm. Started shallow(1-5 ft) but with the recent temps and rain, it looked like most fish had retreated. We eventually found them in the 10-15ft range on the drop off/submerged vegetation line. Chatterbait and Grass Puzzle caught the majority of the fish(pike and bass). On our way back we were able to catch a few dinks shallower on a jerkbait and Coike unweighted. Shallow water temps were pushing 59-60F, but the deeper water was around 56F.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWhat a difference 4 days can make with warmer temps. After being skunked most of the day in the ~10ft range throwing moving baits, I switched to a wacky rig and the bass tore threw all my senkos and o-rings in 1.5hrs. The majority were in 3ft or less. Just chucked the wacky rig anywhere between the shore and the initial weedline for all the bites. Caught this 18.5incher and lost a +4lber!

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWhat a difference a week makes! The milfoil trawler cleared a lot on the east side and most of the bass are spawn/post spawn now. I didn't see any bass really shallow anymore(<0-2 ft), most were in the 4-8ft range. Bluegill look to be spawning and saw plenty of them bedding. Wacky rig was still the best thing with bright colors as the water is pretty stained. Using a Spike It pen to give your green pumpkin worms with a lot of chartreuse and scent seemed to be key.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationThis 18 incher was the biggest caught today along with a bunch of small ones. Tried a few different bails today and they only hit on a wacky worm in watermelon red flake.

Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWasn't having any luck with swim baits through the vegetation, only managed to catch a few in shallower water with the ned rig.
