TechniqueStructure JigsSeasonFallStructureBrush PilesWas hoping for a topwater bite but wasn't producing enough to commit the day to. Switched to a Hack Attack Jig and started catching them on brush piles, laydowns, and random clumps of grass. It had been a while since fishing the lake and did notice they sprayed and killed off a lot of the grass, there is still some around but much less. Didn't find a lunker but we caught them in that 1-1/2 - 3-0 lb. range.

TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonFallStructureDamHorrible lake. My buddy and I went out today. On the water before 8 am, thru 12 pm. Top waters, ploppers, choppo, frogs, worms, etc. No go on anything. Talked to a local and he said he would come all the time and finally gave up after not getting even a strike for bass. He stated that crappie was fine. Another guy said that that DNR did a shock survey and stated that it was the worst lake in Fayette County, and it is dying.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonWinterStructureLaydownsHad a tough few hours of no catching today on Lake Horton. Left the west boat ramp (Antioch side) and headed north. Water was stained with about 2 ft of visibility. And about 10mph winds. I figured the prespawn would be starting and they would be moving up the creek. I found no bass, and no bait. I found a lot of crappie in the middle, suspended at about 8 ft in about 12-16 ft of water using forward facing sonar. I think the bass may still be in a winter pattern waiting for the water to warm up a few more degrees. Good luck!
