Largemouth BassTechniqueGrass JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationThis was an amazing outing! Fished about 3.5 hours this afternoon/evening. This outing was for April 16, 2026. The air temp was warm, close to 80 degrees and windy out of the south. Water temps were in the high 50's up to 61.5 in spawning areas. Bass were up shallow and the fatties were feeding! I caught about 16 bass, my buddy caught around 8. It was on! This was our double, but my buddy caught his PB at 5.4lb, and we had another couple around there. I was throwing a 3/8 oz jig on straight braid to help with the feel as it was so windy. It helped for sure!

Flip the edges of the weed flats and the open pockets as well. Most fish were striking on the fall so you can fish relatively fast and cover water.

Fishing report is for 5/23/2023. Weather was light breeze, sunny with a high of about 80. Water temps were 69 to 71.5 and the bass were up shallow. Caught several small to medium fish on topwater fished slow and wacky senkos. Overall a great day. Also got to see a bunch of yellow headed black birds!

Fishing Opener 2022. Water temps around 55, but up to 60 in some shallows. Bass appeared mostly prespawn, but caught a couple up shallow on a Yamamoto Hula Grub near cattails. Then caught a bunch of medium and small bass just outside of a spawning bay on moving baits, primarily a spinner bait, but also a jerkbait. Was windy and cool.

Many bluegills spawning, smaller gills out in weeds and likely why bass were there. Bass looked healthy so guessing already spawned? Water temps have been all over so not sure on the bass spawn this year.

Fish were in cover, on flats, points all over. But could not get into any size. 1.5 was about the biggest for a 5 fish limit.
