Morning topwater bite is going strong. Caught a few bass on a Zara spook and a pop-r. I was fishing in 10-20’ of water in a flat basin near the river inlet.

In the last week the small mouth moved out of the brush and the large mouth have moved in. They were stacked up on the first secondary point ledges that had pole docks or flooded brush. Shakey heads and Texas rigs worked well.

I used the Gamakatsu finesse wide gap size 2/0 hook and the VMC crossover ring (size 7mm) for my senko. I fished it weightless. Since it was sunny and no wind I had to let it sink a little deeper to get more bites.
