Largemouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureMatted GrassSwede's Bay on Lake Jefferson can be a great bite early season before it gets to be too difficult to access with all the matted grass. Flipping into pockets in the grass or running a chatterbait on the edges has been highly productive the last few seasons,

Largemouth BassTechniqueGrass JigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksThe black and blue Lil Magnum stuck out while Skipping docks and the stained water. Don't just throw under docks but look for any cover like a laydown or boat lift and be patient.

Largemouth BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksFished East Jefferson and targeted mostly docks once the sun got up. Skipped swim jigs and weightless stick worms up under the docks in shaded areas to produce most of my bites. Good pattern for not only this lake but most lakes throughout the summer months when the heat and sun come into play.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationFished East Jefferson this last weekend for a fishing tournament. A lot of the bass I caught were in shallow water from a foot to four feet. The heavy fishing pressure made them difficult to catch at first but I made an adjustment that made a world of a difference and that was using a weightless Texas rig. Marking them and casting out to their area was what worked and pulled a lot of nice bass using this technique. Black and Blue flake was the best pattern for me, especially while using a Strike King Rage Bug.

Largemouth BassTechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationLargemouth bass can be found on Middle Jefferson, especially this low water year. The bass are on sand and around laydowns. Use a 1/2oz spinner bait, chatter bait or big jig. Anything that resembles bluegill tends to get the big bits.
