The fishing right now is amazing. you can find fish anywhere you stop. At every point that I stopped on, I was able to see schools of fish and catch multiple ones. they are biting basically anything that you throw that looks like a shad. There was a lot of schooling action in the morning and all throughout the day.

Target laydowns and isolated cover especially around bluegill beds located in very backs of creeks and pockets. Parallel the bank making very long cast. Braided line helps with hook sets.

The bait is concentrated but not yet in large fall time schools. The bass are very active and following the baitfish aggressively. Be sure to have on some topwater to cast to them and other baitfish imitators.

Key was finding the bait, once you found that I would throw the spybait past the bait ball and keep bait above the bait and the bass would come up 20 feet to hit the spybait.

Look for baitfish of point or around bridge pilings. Vary your retrieve to see what the fish want, but a standard jerk pause jerk jerk pause has been the most effective lately. This pattern will hold up most of the day but keep the fish honest and check pockets with docks and throw a shakey head. There have been some largemouth being caught in the shallows using this technique.

Water is crystal clear this is an afternoon bite. No need to get up at 5am. I fished 12-2 chasing bait balls with my forward facing sonar and drop down on them with a medium to slow retrieve 🎣
