Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureRock Pilesoft and hard jerkbaits work well for smallmouth bass when the water temps are in the 50s. Work near breaks over rocky bottoms

Smallmouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonFallStructureRock PileSmallmouth were on rock piles in 12-16 foot of water, seemed the slower you moved the dropshot back to the boat, the better. Lots of boat pressure lead to this slow technique working.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureDamLeave the East access near Mud Lake. As you leave the channel and enter into the main body of the lake stay on the left side (south side). Bottom bounce drop shots and cast craw jigs for large smallmouth and walleye. Troll back and fourth from where you entered the main body to the carp dam. If you are here at spawn, Cast Ned rigs and wacky work set ups at the carp dam. Here is where the smallmouth spawn.

Largemouth BassTechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonFallStructureDocksThere was a 9 mile wind and I was on the windblown side trowing the whopper up next to docks and around submerged timber. I was also skipping the football jig under the pontoons and really slowly shaking it.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationFind the large flats. This is where the Smallmouth spawn in about 6' to 8'. Throwing the jerkbait from a long distance produced large bites all day long. Some really big smallmouth bass in the lake. Clean up with Ned Rig and Dropshot.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWater temps were 61-63 degrees and some fish were on beds but some may have slid back out since air temps were in the 40s Saturday night. We threw Bladed jigs over vegetation and slowed down with wacky worms when we located fish. We let the worms soak and set the hook when we felt a little weight. Bites were very light. Looks for bays with vegetation and warmer water
