Fish were all over the place and were the majority post-spawn and spawn. We were planning on getting on a post spawn bite on topwater but the pressure got to the fish so e salvaged our day up shallow fishing spawners mostly and a couple random cruisers on bluegill beds. Overall was a inteersting and very stingy lake this time of the year.

Fish were staging for spawn around docks and weed flats. The neko was a great choice for picking off the big ones getting ready to spawn.

Fish were still in the finicky post spawn phase and it was really hard to get the big bites. We caught a lot of number throwing a weightless Texas rigged Senko or Billy Rub Skip Stick into the thicker parts of grass and letting sink as slowly as possible without moving your bait.

The 2nd stop of the MNBN Team Trail brought us to LHD. The post-spawn period is a fantastic time to lock a frog in your hand and chase some of the bigger fish in the system. I like bluegill colors and am not afraid to throw the thing over some open water. Trolling motor cranked up just pounding shorelines. Docks, pads, matted up weeds. It's all fair game this time of year. The fish aren't really grouped up yet so it's usually a get one and keep going program.
