Fished the SATT High School Tournament yesterday and finished up 10th Place! Fish were all over the place and were the majority post-spawn and spawn. We were planning on getting on a post spawn bite on topwater but the pressure got to the fish so e salvaged our day up shallow fishing spawners mostly and a couple random cruisers on bluegill beds. Overall was a inteersting and very stingy lake this time of the year.

Sitting in 16-20 ft casting into 6-10 ft. Lots of fish caught on a Texas rig and jig

Look for fish on deep weed edges between 15-18 feet and edges of deep reeds. Stay mobile with swim jigs and chatterbaits to cover water. When you find thick patches of submerged vegetation, slow down and pick apart with a feider jig.

I tried to target coontail around 10-14ft and the thicker the better it seemed, I also seemed to get more bites by doing the “bang the ceiling” technique while flipping. For me this is flipping your bait in and letting it fall, let it rest on the bottom for 3-5 seconds then you lift till you hit the grass let it fall again and repeat a couple times. I generally only do this a handful of time at most till I move on to the next flip.

Took the kids out to the chain and caught a mixed bag of Bass and Pike along weed edges in 6-10 ft of water. Most fish were under 2lbs

Fishing was pretty wide open. Inside turns on weedlines, shallow inside weedlines, reeds, docks all produced numbers of largemouth bass on the chain.
