Post spawn while the fish are up shallow yet there is a magical period of the year on this lake where you can absolutely hammer the bass on a whopper plopper. I prefer the bone color in 90 or 110 size.

What a beautiful opener we had in MN this year. Largemouths were schooled up in 3-5 feet of water around fresh submerged vegetation. Making a long cast and reeling a swim jig through the vegetation. Also found smallies cruising in 6-7 foot sand flats with more activity near rocks. Leading them and timing them with a black hair jig seemed to be the ticket. Water temps in the morning were between 56-57 degrees but by afternoon where 59-69 degrees.
