Fished submerged vegetation that had open pockets and consisted of a gravel bottom. I used a 1/16 oz tungsten bullet weight (peg-less) Texas rig and it seemed to work. Still had a tough time on getting them to bite.

The reeds haven't fully surface but some where, I would make a cast towards the shot and slowly work the frog with a walking the dog action.

Tough day of fishing! We ended up with 5 fish for 12 and half pounds. All but one of our keepers came off a weed line. We fished 7-14 foot of water. Bites were few and far between but when they hit the craw they jolted the rod every time. Hardest fighting fish this year so far.

I would spot a big mark on Livescope, cast at it and slowly twitch the bait back over their head. Keeping the bait above the fish was key. I caught one 28” walleye, a bunch of 15-19” walleye, and a 36” northern.

Spent the day practicing for an upcoming tournament. Finding matted vegetation around shallow bluegill beds seemed to have a few bass hanging around willing to come up for a frog.
