The bass are everywhere up the river on brush piles and in the back back of creeks eating craws. Main lake fishing is very tough and surprisingly unproductive. Fishing a Frog and flipping heavy texas rigs into shallow cover and brush seem to the best ways to catch a hefty bag.

The Topwater bite on Lake Murray is as hot as the dog days of Summer right now! The fish are really grouped up well on main lake points and schooling on Blueback Herring. The key is throw a topwater walking bait or a weightless fluke all day long and cover as many spots as you can and keep your eyes peeled for bass visually schooling on the surface and you will be rewarded with some great fish during these hot August days!
