Bass have wrapped up spawning and moved to their post spawn summer areas off shore. Most of our fish came on a pegged 1/4oz Texas rig with a big 7 to 10 inch curly tail worm fished along deep grass edges. It was key to let the worm sit still for long periods of time before hopping it off the bottom. A few fish also came on a Bandit 200 series crankbait burned across the top of the grass. Most fish were sitting in 6 to 8 feet of water.

Very dirty water, they were tight to structure. No wind, very hot, very tough conditions. Just swam the jig slowly around any structure I could find.

I tried the free rig for the very first time and it paid off. The water was very still and dirty after some storms, and the fish seemed like they were not hunting bait fish. Could not get them to bite any moving baits.

Slow retrieve on the spinnerbait, largemouth bass smacked it right near the kayak. 15lb flurocarbon

17” inch (2.5 lb) largemouth bass caught on one of the points on the lake, slow retrieve through some flooded brush.
