Spotted BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureDocksWe were targeting spotted bass on deep docks (15-20 foot) with Zman Ned Rigs. The weight of the Ned Rig didn't seem to be all too important as we were looking at them sit on the poles of the wood docks and cast directly at them with livescope. The docks that had wood poles and brush piles near were the best. When the dock bite faded we would target the brush piles nearby the docks with shakey heads. Brush piles seemed to be on every 6 or 7 docks for the part of the lake we were in. We did not target largemouth during the week we were there but reports are that they were spawning during this time.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureDocksSpring has sprung, and with the decent weather we're having lately also comes boat traffic. These fish are pressured big time. And it's times like this that I always turn to the shakey head. It just works. Cast it out, let it sink to bottom. Then you can drag it, hop it, swim it, shake it. The cut-r worm and the uv speed worms add a little secondary motion to the rig, and a lot of times will get bit on the fall. Try it yourself and have fun catching them.
