Spotted Bass
TechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSummerStructurePointsBass are feeding heavily in the first hour of daylight, you can get bit on topwater but its a tough bite. Crankbaits, bladed jigs, spinnerbaits, & swim jigs have been producing early morning bites but once the sun gets above the trees, its time for the finesse baits or jigs out deep or around the shade lines of the docks.

Largemouth Bass
TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureBouldersWent out early in the morning on a cloudy and calm day. This morning I was throwing the Megabass Vision 110 in Mat Shad color because the water visibility was about 6 feet and it was cloudy so this Mat Shad is the perfect color. I was throwing this on the St. Croix Mojo Bass 7’1 MH paired with a Daiwa Ballistic MQ LT 2500 spooled with 15lb braid and 12lb mono leader. Majority of the fish I caught today were around boulders in around 5-10ft of water. Today, I got most of the bites working the jerkbait pretty fast. The jerkbait bite slowed down as the sun came out higher and higher.
