Main lake points in 20-35ft with some sort of irregularity and bait present were key. I'd see fish and activity in the area with Humminbird Mega Live. If I couldn't get those fish to bite I'd back off and make long casts with the tube. I'd crack the tube back through those fish and seem to get more bites than targeting individual fish.
