Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard Topwater (Walking)SeasonSummerStructurePointsStarting to see schooling fish more. The cool nights and mornings we’ve been having are starting to get them to start transitioning to the fall patterns. Can have a lot of fun and catch a lot fish right now. True giants are harder to come by but that’s ok because pulling up on a point and catching 20 fish on top water is a blast.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructurePointsMain lake points in 20-35ft with some sort of irregularity and bait present were key. I'd see fish and activity in the area with Humminbird Mega Live. If I couldn't get those fish to bite I'd back off and make long casts with the tube. I'd crack the tube back through those fish and seem to get more bites than targeting individual fish.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureBouldersThe smallies were holding tight to the boulders and you would rarely see them off the bottom on FFS. If you did see them up they were extremely aggressive. Long pauses were a big key and working the bait over isolated boulders to get the fish to show themselves.
