7/16 - 7/17: The fish have scattered much more from last week. We spent too much time up shallow. There were still some fish in 5 - 15 ft but the vast majority were chasing bait in 25 - 45 ft of water. They were very finicky and did not engulf the lighter ned rig like last weekend. I didn't have any luck with a hair jig, and very little luck with the tube. There were 2 main bite windows: early morning and mid day. Most of our fish hit a drop shot on the fall. A few would follow it down and hit it within 30 seconds of the drop after working the bait a little bit. With the waves it made it difficult to stay on the schools. The best bet is to sit on one rock pile. We ran around too much.

7/9 - 7/10: The smallies were spread out in multiple water depths. We found our best fish up shallow, but large schools of smaller fish out deep. They were very aggressive post front, during the front they shut off. The definitely wanted the slower fall when suspended. If they were hugging the bottom, a tube or a Carolina Rig with a tube on it worked well.
