5/14/22 - 5/15/22: The bite was a little tough with the high wind and big rollers but we were around the right caliber of fish in the Inaugural Governor's Cup Bass Tournament. We managed to bring in a few over the four pound mark and found the 1-3 pound bass prevalent in some areas. The heartbreaker was have two giants (6+ lbs) come off within 5 feet of the boat. The only baits they would really bite were deep diving suspending jerkbaits in perch color and a green pumpkin tube dragged at a painfully slow pace.
